Not by a long shot. In fact, it doesn’t get any more casual than this quirky eatery at the Excalibur where the food is tasty but the customer service philosophy is, well, unique. Servers at Dick’s Last Resort are anything but pleasant, polite and inviting. But don’t take it personal. That’s all part of the schtick.

The whole vibe is refreshingly irreverent and employees play into it all with their outrageous behavior and vulgar comments that will make you laugh in spite of your better judgment. Don’t dare take too long to order or the server will simply choose for you and move on to the next person. If you get the feeling that the customer is never right here, you are finally catching on to the Dick’s way of doing business.

Menu options offer hearty Southern-style fare, including chicken wings, ribs, chicken, shrimp, steaks and juicy half-pound burgers. If you have a sweet tooth, save room for the Extreme Brownie Meltdown, a chocolaty concoction featuring a fudge brownie and ice cream drowning in chocolate syrup and topped with Heath bar crunch and an entire Hershey’s chocolate bar.

For something a little different, order up some deep-fried pickle chips off the appetizer menu to wolf down with a cold beer or a red-headed slut, which, by the way, is not your date but a tasty libation made with Jagermeister, peach schnapps and cranberry juice.

Every order comes with a customized silly hat. All servers are accomplished paper hat makers and each one comes with a personalized insult, so don’t even try to take yourself too seriously. Taco is the resident entertainer and he lives for audience participation. Don’t be surprised if you stop by for dinner and end up onstage learning a new dance or singing along with a favorite tune to the great amusement of your fellow diners.
