PALMS POOL AND DAYCLUB AT THE PALMS LAS VEGAS

The heart-pumping beats you hear as you approach the intersection of Flamingo Rd and S Valley View Blvd are coming from the Palms Pool & Dayclub, where locals and visitors alike gather to bask in the sunlight, enjoy refreshing adult beverages and dance to the sounds of some of the best DJs around.

During the week, the two-acre complex offers a great place for hotel guests to chill poolside but starting on Friday and continuing through the weekend, the party animals come out to play.

Ditch Friday offers the best the reason to call in sick or skip class and make it a three-day weekend. This weekly party has come to rival Rehab at the Hard Rock, arguably the city’s most famous weekly poolside extravaganza.

The complex keeps the party going with three bars, including the Entry Bar, which is the first thing guests encounter when they walk through the door. The Waterfall Bar is tucked away behind a 12-foot waterfall creating a cool, grotto style ambiance. The triangular Glass Bar and a half dozen blackjack tables are hidden away beneath a tiny glass-bottomed pool where two more waterfalls spill into the wading areas.

Six cylindrical woven-metal cabanas flank the main pool. Wade across the ankle-deep wet deck to access the second pool where canvas cabanas are set up on either side of the concert stage. Three additional canvas cabanas with Astroturf decks are located on a terrace above three stone cabanas.

Reserved seating options include VIP day beds, padded lounge chairs and more than two dozen cabanas. Guests who want to avoid waiting in line at the bar can keep their thirst quenched with bottle service.

Cabana guests enjoy lush surroundings with plush sectional furnishings, 32” LCD TV, multiple speakers with volume control, lighted ceiling fan, mini refrigerator, personal safe, house phone and a personal cabana host to cater to their needs.

Poolside bungalows offer the ideal option for guests who never want to leave the party. These luxuriously appointed rooms offer a master bedroom with king-size bed, living room and a private balcony and lanai. Step onto the balcony overlooking the pool deck to be part of the action without being right in the middle of it. Soak your cares away in the private Jacuzzi on the lanai and mix up a drink at the fully equipped bar. Additional amenities include in-room Wi-Fi and Internet, personal safe, hair dryer, iron and full-sized ironing board.

While sunning and sipping, guests can grab a bite to eat. Selections on the poolside menu include appetizers, fresh salads and sandwiches or burgers served with a choice of chips, French fries or sweet potato fries.

The Palms Resort and Casino is located approximately one mile west of the Las Vegas Strip, within walking distance of Bellagio and Caesars Palace and well worth the short trip.
