When it comes to finding the best Japanese restaurant Las Vegas has to offer, Susi Roku is a clear winner. Magnificent views of the Strip, a cozy grotto-like ambience, the freshest fish and innovative menu options combine to make this one of the most popular restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip with celebrities, so you know it’s got to be great.

Sushi Roku offers a relaxing and inviting environment with bamboo stick light sconces that complement the earth tone walls decorated with large Japanese characters in black. Muted chandeliers and stone accents show off mirrored columns and water elements that provide a soothing atmosphere. Light wood tables are set simply with a candle, soy sauce plate, teapot and chopsticks wrapped in linen napkins.

Sushi ingredients are selected daily by Executive Sushi Chef Haruhiko Takeshita, who recreates dishes served in a restaurant owned by his family in Gunma, Japan. According to Takeshita, what makes his dishes special is a secret ingredient he brought with him from his native land. What is it? We can’t tell you or it wouldn’t be a secret but it must be special or diners would stop coming back for more.

Entrée options include prime rib eye steak Japonais, filet mignon, free-range chicken and grilled salmon but the signature style sushi is the star of this establishment.

The Katana Roll features shrimp tempura and spicy tuna topped with Yellowtail and served with spicy sauce on the side. The Makoto Roll wraps seared tuna around shrimp tempura and spicy Yellowtail served with a spicy cream sauce.

If you feel like showing off and don’t mind spending around $250, ask your server for the High Roller Roll. This over-the-top sushi roll is made with lobster tail, Wagyu Kobe beef, tuna, Osetra golden caviar, asparagus and avocado topped with truffle oil and edible flakes made of 24K gold. You won’t find this option on the menu, so you can thank us for this insider tip if you choose to indulge.

To get more bang for your buck, visit Sushi Roku during its Red Sun Happy Hour every Sunday through Thursday from 4-7 pm and on Friday and Saturday from 4-6 pm. Enjoy beer, well drinks and house wine by the glass for $5. Hot sake is just $3 and select appetizers and sushi rolls are priced from $3 to $7 for the rib eye wrapped asparagus with soy Mirin.

For diners with special diet restrictions, Sushi Roku offers an extensive menu of gluten free cold and hot starters, salads, soups, entrees and sushi rolls. All sashimi and sushi selections are also available gluten free upon request.

Sushi Roku servers are quite knowledgeable about all menu items and trained to create a custom tasting menu based on your personal preferences. If you’re not sure what to order or feel like going on a tasty adventure, let your server choose your menu and you are sure to have a satisfying dining experience.
